Yuka produced a fabulous event at the 2012 Asian American Expo in Pomona on January 14-15, 2012 for her non-profit foundation to assist children in the areas most directly harmed by the Tsunami. The visitors to the Expo were rewarded with four shows featuring Yuka. She first danced with Kirk Nishikawa of the famous Nishikawa-ryu family of Japanese dancers, then she performed Tate ritualized sword dancing with the IKI company. The Tate performance troup included Masa Kanome, Tadahiro Nakamura, Ikuma Ando, Glenn Takamichi, Taishi Mizuno and Shinichiro Simizu. Costumes were provided by Suehiro Kimono Agency and Kentaro Terauchi.
Yuka’s non-profit foundation, A Little Smile Around the World, had a booth at the show to help publicize its mission to help disadvantaged children of all backgrounds by putting a little smile on their faces. Yuka’s goal is to promote a world where children of all backgrounds and races can smile, creating a better world for all.
